VFG Cleaning System

VFG offers an advanced and unique system of cleaning the rifling and bores of firearms.

VFG high quality woollen felt barrel cleaners are manufactured from natural sheep wool.  The diameters of felts match specific calibres.

Woollen felts have many good properties.

  • It is a purely natural product and contains no chemicals whatsoever.
  • Felt is stable in shape yet flexible and can be precision stamped.  When stamped, the cut surface presents brush-like properties.  Optimum cleaning effects occur when pushed through the barrel.
  • It is very absorbent and can trap large and small particles in its fibre structure.  The outstanding absorbency enables it to take up and store liquids (oil, solvents and polishing pastes).
  • It is a textile and therefore harmless and exceptionally gentle.
  • It can bring metal surfaces to a high polish.

It is a proven system that has achieved success for athletes and sporting shooters alike.

The felt cleaners thoroughly clean the rifling of barrels in a few passes.  You can oil the bore of firearms within seconds by using just a few drops of oil.

The savings in time and money are real.

To restore the shooting accuracy of your barrel we recommend the following;

  • Select the correct sized Superintensive felt for your barrel.
  • Screw the felt onto your adaptor to attain the correct pressure in the bore.
  • Cover the felt circumference with a very thin coating of Bore Cleaning Compound.
  • Attach the adaptor with the coated felt onto your cleaning rod and work it back and forth in your barrel.
  • The felt will absorb the Bore Cleaning Compound with any sediment removed from the bore.
  • Repeat this process with new Superintensive felts and Bore Cleaning Compound if necessary.

Finish with a Felt coated with a few drops of gun oil to remove any Bore Cleaning Compound from your barrel.

Your barrel should look shiny and in as new state.  The barrel is now pure steel with opened micro pores.  The gliding ability of the steel is consequently reduced with all the lead removed; similar to a brand new barrel.

We recommend that you use a small amount of LUPUS Teflon Grease to fill the micro pores.

  • Apply a very small amount of LUPUS Teflon Grease to the circumference of a felt.
  • Work the felt back and forth in your barrel.
  • You’ll feel the felt easily glide in your barrel as the Teflon fills the micro pores.
  • The barrel is now preserved and in water-repellent condition.

The amount of Bore Cleaning Compound, gun oil and LUPUS Teflon Grease required to keep your barrel in “as new condition” is tiny.

Additionally you’ll find that the time taken to clean your firearm is less than conventional methods.

It takes just a few minutes to perfectly clean a barrel to “as new condition”.

Acme Firearms has proven the VFG Weaponcare system to be the best method of cleaning small-bore target and air rifles to achieve improved accuracy and scores.

Imagine what VFG can do for your hunting rifle.
